Tofu Burgers with Hatcho Miso  

Serves 2


300g Silken Tofu
1 Egg


Fried onions
2 tsp 
Hatcho miso
2 tbsp

Panko (Japanese breadcrumbs)

4 Spring onions, finely chopped
½ tsp Salt
1 tbsp Sunflower oil or vegetable oil

Dipping Sauce

2 Tbsp Tomato ketchup
2 Tbsp Tonkatsu sauce




  • Combine the ingredients for the dipping sauce, put aside.


Tofu burgers

      • Combine egg and Hatcho miso until they blend.
      • Add the rest of the ingredients to the above including tofu. Mix until the mixture becomes a smooth paste.
      • Divide the tofu burger in 4 (or 8 for mini burgers)



  1. Preheat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat with oil, place the tofu burgers. Cook for 4 minutes or until the bottom of the burger turns deliciously brown (but not burnt). Adjust heat as necessary.
  2. Turn over with a turner, continue cooking for another 4 minutes.
  3. Serve with the dipping sauce, with rice or bun with salad. Your choice.
