Tofu Burgers with Hatcho Miso
Serves 2
Ingredients
300g | Silken Tofu |
1 | Egg |
30g |
Fried onions |
2 tsp |
Hatcho miso |
2 tbsp |
Panko (Japanese breadcrumbs) |
4 | Spring onions, finely chopped |
½ tsp | Salt |
1 tbsp | Sunflower oil or vegetable oil |
Dipping Sauce |

2 Tbsp | Tomato ketchup |
2 Tbsp | Tonkatsu sauce |
Preparation
Sauce
- Combine the ingredients for the dipping sauce, put aside.
Tofu burgers
- Combine egg and Hatcho miso until they blend.
- Add the rest of the ingredients to the above including tofu. Mix until the mixture becomes a smooth paste.
- Divide the tofu burger in 4 (or 8 for mini burgers)
Cooking
- Preheat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat with oil, place the tofu burgers. Cook for 4 minutes or until the bottom of the burger turns deliciously brown (but not burnt). Adjust heat as necessary.
- Turn over with a turner, continue cooking for another 4 minutes.
- Serve with the dipping sauce, with rice or bun with salad. Your choice.
